When injury-free, Prasidh Krishna can be a menace. And in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, the tall fast bowler is showing that. After taking his second 4-wicket haul in the tournament, Prasidh has bagged the Purple Cap. Facing the Delhi Capitals (DC), the table toppers, and the only team to lose just one match, the pacer stood out.
Prasidh Krishna takes a 4-fer against DC
He outshone Mohammed Siraj and Rashid Khan with ease at the Narendra Modi Stadium, taking the wickets of Karun Nair, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, and Vipraj Nigam. In hot conditions where Ishant Sharma and Axar both struggled physically, Prasidh came steaming in, hit the deck, and got wickets whenever Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill handed him the ball.
DC had raced off the blocks, scoring 52 runs in the first 4 overs. With in-form Rahul and Nair in the middle, a big total was on the cards. But on his 4th ball, Prasidh sent Rahul packing. The run flow didn’t stop, though. Nair continued chipping away. He was marching towards another big score when Prasidh extracted some extra bounce from the surface and had him caught at third man.
Knowing how valuable the pacer could be, Gill held him back. He was handed the ball in the 18th over and, on his first ball, sent DC captain Axar Patel back. The all-rounder was set on 39 and was ready to explode. To put the cherry on top, Vipraj Nigam departed for a duck, thanks to a great catch by Jos Buttler.
