Not a good news coming from Pakistan, as a massive fire broke out on the sixth floor of the iconic Serena Hotel in Islamabad on Friday afternoon. At the time, several foreign players participating in the Pakistan Super League were staying at the hotel, triggering panic in the capital’s high-security zone. This area is known for hosting diplomats and other prominent figures.
District administration confirmed that the fire originated from the top floor of the hotel. Eight fire tenders from the Capital Development Authority rushed to the scene and launched a firefighting operation. A video posted on social media is now gaining attention, showing smoke billowing near the hotel with the caption, “Fire at Serena Hotel, Islamabad.” However, officials clarified that the incident was not a terrorist attack but a structural fire.
As per the management team, the hotel’s emergency protocols were swiftly implemented, and the fire was efficiently contained through the combined efforts of the in-house emergency response team and local fire authorities. No damage was reported, and there was no need to evacuate any guests or staff.
