Multan Sultans owner shot down claims of PCB, over their T20 tournament PSL, claiming it will be the "best ever".

PCB has always dreamt of competing with the BCCI and IPL, with their league PSL. As per reports, there are plans in place to introduce some more teams; they want the best players in the world, and claim that the competition quality is better than the Indian counterpart. In fact, this time around the dates are clashing with IPL 2025, as PSL starts from April 11.

Multan Sultans Owner Settles PSL vs IPL Debate

But then Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has openly criticised the PCB for claiming, the PSL will be the “best ever”. The Sultans owner went on to claim, that instead of relying on slogans, there should be visible improvements. At a recent podcast “Ultra Edge”, he opened up on the ground reality, where the board failed to make any serious changes in the league.

“How is PSL 10 bigger and better? Someone explain to me what these hollow words mean. How will it be the best PSL?” Tareen remarked. “Same games, same teams. We always have nail-biting matches, but what’s different this time? Same stadiums too. Is that what will make this the best PSL ever? I’m tired of these empty words,” he added.

Slams PCB for “Best-ever” Claim

“The PCB is saying we are going to do exactly what we did last year and the year before that, but this will be the biggest PSL. How? What are your plans to make it bigger,” he said. Tareen did not stop there, and said that PSL seems to be a property which was neglected.

“I genuinely feel hurt that our biggest brand has been reduced to this. It is just depressing to see.” Meanwhile, there will be 34 matches in the PSL, with the tournament ending on May 18.
