RCB hint at squad rotation to tackle fatigue of travelling 9024 km for next 7 matches in IPL 2025
RCB have already travelled 2944 kilometres for their two matches against the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 22 and the Chennai Super Kings on March 28.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are sky-high. For once, they are on top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table. And they aren’t just on top. They have beaten two of the most successful franchises, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. That too at their home grounds. RCB’s net run rate is a whopping +2.266. This could mean that even if they lose a few matches, they’ll be in the mix at the back end of the tournament.

RCB worried about hectic IPL 2025 schedule

In the next three weeks, RCB will have Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, and Punjab Kings away from home. But RCB’s Team Director, Mo Bobat, isn’t worried about their opponents.

The former Performance Director for England instead thinks that travelling might be a bigger issue for them. In the next three matches, RCB will play 7 matches and will have to travel 9024 kilometres. That’s a whopping 1289 kilometres per match.

“I think a bigger challenge for us scheduling-wise is probably the amount of travel that we’ve got. So we’ve actually got quite a laid-back and quiet start and quite a nice relaxed end. But the middle is very congested. I think from after this game onwards we play something like seven games in 22 days with seven travel days. That’s a very hectic schedule. So I’m more interested in how we keep the boys fresh through that period and keep playing the way we want to play,” Bobat told reporters in Bengaluru.
