Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling coach James Franklin is optimistic about the side breaching the 300-run mark in IPL 2025. SRH nearly got to the mark in their very first game against Rajasthan Royals, having set a mammoth 287-run target. Eventually, Cummins and co. won the game by 7 wickets. They will take on an injury-stricken LSG on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters ahead of SRH vs LSG, Franklin pointed out that 230-240s were already being achieved by teams with ease. He admitted that the side were pretty close to achieving the milestone in their previous game. Ishan Kishan’s 106-run knock, Travis Head’s 67 and cameos from Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy nearly got the team across the 300-run mark in the previous game.
“I would never say never. I think we ran it pretty close the other day ourselves, and I think we’ve already seen in a couple of other games, that you know, 230s, 240s being achieved. So yeah, why not,” SRH bowling coach said.
Lucknow Super Giants batter Mitchell Marsh admitted that 230 was the new par score in IPL. He said that while SRH were known to put pressure on their opponents with their batting firepower, it was important for LSG to play as per their strengths and execute plans effectively.
“The most important thing for us is to focus on our strengths and do what we have come here to do, and play our game. No doubt SRH have put a lot of teams under pressure, but I think that’s any team these days. 230 is the new par score in most of the grounds, so we respect that,” Marsh said.
