The Indian Premier League (IPL) season is back and so are Yuzvendra Chahal’s humorous antics. The star leggie, who hasn’t been part of the national setup for some time now, was seen mocking Pakistan’s Muhammad Rizwan. During a training session with his new franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS), Chahal made fun of Rizwan’s English, recalling the Pakistani captain’s iconic line, “Yes, it is a two.”
WATCH: Chahal & his funny batting antics
Despite all the rumours circulating about his personal life, Yuzvendra Chahal has always had a funny side to him. His love for batting is a secret to none too. In a video shared by the tweaker himself, Chahal was seen having fun as he teased his way to the crease. He started off by asking Shashank Singh, “Darr gye kya (Are you afraid)?” before recalling Rizwan’s famous one-liner, “Yes, it’s a two.” Watch the entertaining video below.
Chahal eyes redemption through PBKS
Can you recall the last time Yuzvendra Chahal featured for India? It was way back in August of 2023 when Chahal played in a five-match T20I series against the West Indies. Since then, he has either played domestic cricket or IPL 2024. Incredibly, he had a superb IPL 2024 season, where he took 18 wickets in 15 innings. But still, it wasn’t enough for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) to retain him.
Instead, Chahal went into the IPL 2025 mega auction, where he was bought by the PBKS franchise for a whopping Rs 18 crore. Having lost his spot across both the white-ball formats, Chahal would be seeing the upcoming IPL 2025 as a perfect opportunity to redeem himself. His last selection in the team was during the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. In order to strengthen his case, Chahal has been regularly featuring in domestic cricket as well. While he missed the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) due to personal reasons, Chahal took 10 wickets at a SR of 15.00 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) for Haryana.
