India cricket team all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has dismissed speculations of his retirement from ODIs after Champions Trophy. While Indian captain Rohit Sharma firmly dismissed all rumours of his retirement on Sunday, the southpaw followed suit a day after the victory.

Jadeja dismisses retirement rumours

Taking to his Instagram story, Jadeja wrote that “no unnecessary rumours, thanks”, categorically dismissing all speculations. There was a lot of buzz about the trio of Rohit-Jadeja-Kohli announcing their retirement from the 50-over format like how they did following India’s T20 World Cup win in 2024. However, so far, both Rohit and Jadeja have denied while Kohli has stayed silent on the matter.

Jadeja won the Fielder of the Medal match for his heroics on the field in the final of Champions Trophy. He hit the winning runs for the Men in Blue, smashing a boundary just like he did for CSK when he guided them to their 5th title.

Addressing the post-match press conference following the Champions Trophy win, Rohit said that he had no plans to retire from ODIs. He was responding to all speculations that were making waves before and during the tournament. Earlier, reports had claimed that chief selector Ajit Agarkar had asked the Indian captain to take a call on his ODI career after the conclusion of Champions Trophy. However, there seems to be no room for the thought of retirement in the Hitman’s mind as he now sets his sight firmly on the 2027 ODI World Cup.
