The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) won’t organise an open bus parade for the India cricket team. The last time the Men in Blue won an ICC trophy, the 2024 T20 World Cup, the BCCI had let the players soak in the appreciation from the public, who was overjoyed.
No Champions Trophy victory parade due to IPL 2025
Fans arrived in lakhs to appreciate Rohit Sharma and co. The Wankhede Stadium, which was the stopping point of the parade, was packed to its gills. Naturally, one expected that after winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, there would be a similar celebration. Well, that won’t be the case.
According to IANS, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir will arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi later today (March 10). Suggesting that he won’t travel with the team. In fact, due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season starting on March 22, all the players will travel separately as well.
The training camps for all 10 franchises are underway, and players are joining their teams. It’s uncertain as to when and how the players who were part of Team India’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy will start the preparations for IPL 2025.
