The India Cricket Team went on to beat New Zealand to lift the ICC Champions Trophy finals in Dubai. Now, comparisons have been drawn between the Champions Trophy and the ODI World Cup. But Team India captain, Rohit Sharma has given an epic response on the matter. He claims it is a very difficult task to win the Champions Trophy itself.
Back in 2023, things were a bit different. The Men in Blue went unbeaten throughout the tournament. And in the finals, Rohit Sharma and Co were defeated by Australia. But, India then recovered back strongly. They won the T20 World Cup in 2024 and in 2025 lifted the ICC Champions Trophy.
There is nothing wrong with this
Speaking at the press conference, Rohit Sharma was himself. As is his forgetful nature, he forgot to take the ICC Champions Trophy with him. However, before that he was questioned about the ODI World Cup as well. He claimed that it was equally hard to win the Champions Trophy as it is needed to win the ODI World Cup.
“For us the 50-over World Cup is World Cup. But there is nothing wrong with this (pointing to the ICC Champions Trophy). This is also…You ask me how hard is it to win this trophy as well,” said Rohit showcasing his ever forgetful nature.
