Gujarat Titans have roped in their former player Matthew Wade as the assistant coach ahead of IPL 2025. The former Australian keeper-batter was associated with GT for two seasons – in 2022 and in 2024. He did not participate in the IPL 2025 auction following his retirement from international cricket and desire to pursue coaching opportunities.
Wade roped in as assistant coach by GT
On Saturday, GT took to their social media handle X to announce Wade’s signing. The Australian’s last full season with the franchise as a player came in 2022 – the year they lifted their maiden IPL title. Wade will now join head coach Ashish Nehra, batting coach Parthiv Patel, and assistant coaches Aashish Kapoor and Narender Negi.
