In what could be a huge relief for India, New Zealand pacer Matt Henry could potentially not be a part of the Champions Trophy final. Kiwis head coach Gary Stead provided an update on the pacer on Friday, stating that his availability for the marquee clash was still unknown. Henry suffered a shoulder injury during the semi-final clash against South Afrcia.
NZ’s Matt Henry doubtful for Champions Trophy final
Addressing a press conference ahead of the Champions Trophy final, NZ head coach Gary Stead said that the team was hopeful Henry would be okay in time for the clash. He pointed out that the pacer was still sore at the landing point of his shoulder, adding that his availability for the contest was still unknown. However, Stead stated that Henry was back to bowling at the nets.
“I guess the positive thing from our perspective is he got back out there to bowl,” Stead said. “We’ve had some scans and stuff done on him, and we’re going to give him every chance to be playing in this match. [But it’s] still a little bit unknown at this stage,” Stead said.

“He’s obviously pretty sore just from landing on the point of his shoulder,” Stead added.
