IPL 2025: The KKR players are on a roll in the ongoing Champions Trophy. Ahead of the IPL 2025, several Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players have made notable contributions in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy. From Varun Chakravarthy to Spencer Johnson, as many as 4 KKR players played in the ongoing Champions Trophy, with 3 of them might be seen in action in the upcoming IND vs. AUS Champions Trophy semifinal.

How KKR players performed in the Champions Trophy?

Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy has been a revelation for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. His standout performance came against New Zealand, where he took 5 wickets for 42 runs in 10 overs. This spell was instrumental in India’s 44-run victory, securing their top finish in Group A. Varun’s ability to deceive batsmen with his mystery spin has made him a key player for India. His performance has not only solidified his place in the team but also made him a potential match-winner in the upcoming semi-final against Australia. Varun’s journey to this point has been remarkable, overcoming initial doubts about his inclusion and proving his worth on the big stage.

Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana has also been impressive in the Champions Trophy. He was included in the Indian squad after Jasprit Bumrah’s injury and has shown great form. Harshit has picked up 4 wickets in the tournament so far, with an average of 15.25. His inclusion in the squad has provided India with a reliable pace option. However, he was rested for the final group stage match against New Zealand to accommodate Varun Chakravarthy on the slow Dubai pitch. Despite this, Harshit’s contributions in the earlier matches have been crucial for India’s success in the tournament.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the aggressive Afghan opener, has had a challenging time in the Champions Trophy 2025. After a promising start with a century in a warm-up game against New Zealand, his form dipped sharply in the main tournament. He managed scores of 10 and 6 against South Africa and England, respectively, before being dismissed for a duck by a stunning yorker from Spencer Johnson in the match against Australia.

Spencer Johnson

Australian pacer Spencer Johnson has had a decent outing in the Champions Trophy so far. In his two outings, Johnson has scalped two wickets. Despite spending 54 runs in the first match against England in 7 overs, Johnson made a decent comeback against Afghanistan. After buying him in the auction of IPL 2025, KKR will be hoping for a good performance from pacer.
