The Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) is just 3 weeks away. And the excitement for the tournament grows with every passing day. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are yet to announce their captain for the upcoming season. The first game of IPL 2025 will be held at their own backyard as they take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
KKR has teased the fans that they can go on to announce their next captain on 3rd March. Taking to social media, the club has posted a speculative update with the writing “The name of the winner is written in the sky”.
Who will be KKR’s new captain for IPL 2025?
“Look at the stars! Look how 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 shine for you 🎶✨,” read the captain for Kolkata Knight Riders on social media.
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are now without a captain for the tournament. It was under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy that KKR won their 3rd title last season. Previously, under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy, the side has won two titles. In the meantime, after Shreyas Iyer refused to get himself retained, he took part in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
Iyer was bought by Punjab Kings for a price of 26.75 crore. But this meant, KKR is now without a captain, and with IPL 2025 looming on the horizon, it is mostly certain that they would announce their captain.
