Ranji Trophy winners list ft. Vidarbha

All done! The Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season is now complete, and Vidarbha emerged as the champions this time. Full list of Ranji Trophy winners over the years.

That’s it! The 90th season of the Ranji Trophy has finally come to an end, with Vidarbha clinching their third title by defeating Kerala at their home ground, the VCA Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur. From Karun Nair to Danish Malewar, Vidarbha’s batters stepped up and played dominant innings against Sachin Baby and his team.

India’s premier red-ball tournament began in the 1934-35 season and was initially called the Cricket Championship of India before being renamed the following year. Over the years, the tournament has seen several top teams, but none more dominant than Mumbai (formerly Bombay), which holds a staggering record of 42 title wins—the most recent being last year when they defeated Vidarbha in the final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Karnataka (formerly Mysore) is the second most successful team in Ranji Trophy history, with eight titles. Now, slowly but steadily, Vidarbha is emerging as a strong contender as well. Take a look at the full list of Ranji Trophy winners and see which teams have dominated the tournament apart from the names mentioned above.
