India cricket team batter KL Rahul is all set for the battle against New Zealand in the final group stage fixture of ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Ahead of the contest against Kiwis, Rahul is eager for the battle against a NZ that he refers to as “friends and foes”.
KL Rahul ready for New Zealand battle
In a video uploaded by BCCI, Rahul heaps praise on Team India for their all-round performance in the last two games. He hailed his teammates for making winning a habit, referring to the first two victories in Dubai. KL heaped praised on the batters for rising to the occasion, the bowlers for leaving the opposition spellbound and the fielding unit for performing like a “F1 pit crew”.
“The view from behind the stumps has been great and the view from the front very satisfactory. But KL Rahul has this and much more to offer. This Sunday, we meet familiar foes or let’s call them friends. Let us stick to opponents and let’s get going,” Rahul said.

Rahul, India’s first-choice wicketkeeper, has been prolific behind the stumps. He displayed some exemplary glove work in the matches against Bangladesh and Pakistan. In the Champions Trophy opener, he earned the Fielder of the Match medal for taking three outstanding catches behind the stumps. With the bat, he scored a 41-run knock against the Tigers where he finished the game with a six. Rahul will be hoping to get more game time with the bat in the clash against New Zealand on Sunday.
