Former Pakistan pacer Sarfaraz Nawaz opined that the India cricket team had left Pakistan far behind. His remarks come after the 6-wicket thrashing handed to the Champions Trophy hosts on Sunday. The 76-year-old blamed Pakistan’s poor selection for their early exit from the tournament.
Pakistan captain “looked lost”
Speaking to Cricbuzz, Nawaz pointed out that Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan looked lost during the toss at IND vs PAK tie. He claimed that Rizwan was unusually silent, adding that he might have had a lot of pressure on him. He further said that improper selection would obviously lead to the other team being far ahead of Pakistan.
“When I watched the toss, I saw the reaction of the Pakistan captain (Mohammad Rizwan). He looked lost somewhere. I don’t know if it was due to pressure, but he didn’t look the same as he generally does. Unlike in other matches, he wasn’t blabbering at all; he was just quiet. I don’t know what went wrong there. Pakistan’s selection was very poor. If there is no proper selection and a proper team is not picked, the other team will always be far ahead of you. This was the main issue,” he said.

“Pakistan cricket is gone now”
“Pakistan cricket is gone now. I think it’s because of all the PCB officials running the board. They are non-cricketers; they are bureaucrats. That’s why I think they don’t know how to go about things like that. They’ve picked people who previously destroyed Pakistan cricket. And then there are frequent changes in the PCB. Within a year and a half, there were three chairmen and four captains. What else do you expect?,” he added.
