Watch: India's mid-tournament break ends, start practice for Champions Trophy clash against New Zealand

India has begun preparations for their Champions Trophy clash against New Zealand, with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill skipping the training session.

After a mid-tournament break, India has resumed preparations for their ICC Champions Trophy match against New Zealand, scheduled for March 2. With their spot in the semi-finals already secured, the Indian players appeared relaxed and enjoyed a lighthearted training session.

India’s training session

Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, and Shreyas Iyer participated in the batting training session. However, captain Rohit Sharma was absent and may have skipped the session. KL Rahul was also present.

Rohit Sharma injured his hamstring while celebrating Babar Azam’s wicket on February 23. He briefly left the field, and upon his return, he appeared to be in discomfort. His movements were restricted during India’s chase, and instead of relying on quick singles and doubles, the veteran batter prioritized playing big shots.

India will try to be unbeaten side

India has already secured a spot in the semi-finals and will aim to remain unbeaten in the knockout stage. Both India and New Zealand have proven to be strong contenders, making their clash a must-watch encounter.

India and New Zealand will look horns on March 2 at the Dubai International Stadium with New Zealand coming to Dubai from Pakistan.
