Pakistan cricket team captain Mohammad Rizwan could help but admire Virat Kohli’s fitness levels following the team’s 6-wicket defeat on Sunday. The batting maestro turned back the clock to prove why he was the best chase master in the business. With India’s 6-wicket thrashing, defending champions Pakistan are on the verge of exiting the Champions Trophy.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Rizwan claimed that he was surprised by Virat’s hard work. He said that the world claimed that the Indian batter was out of form but he managed to easily score runs in a big match while Pakistan failed to contain him. The Pakistan captain heaped praise on Kohli’s fitness levels and credited him for single-handedly taking the game away from the hosts.
“I will definitely praise his fitness level and hard work, they way he has done it. Because he is a cricketer and we are also cricketers. We tried very hard to get him out, but he took the game away from us,” Rizwan said.

“I’m surprised at his hard work. The world says he is out of form but he comes to such big matches, which the world is waiting for, and he easily hits the ball – and this is where we don’t want to give him runs. But he plays and gets away from us,” Rizwan added.
Kohli stayed unbeaten on 100, getting a boundary off the last delivery to get to his century and seal the win for India. The hundred marked Virat’s 82nd overall and 51st in ODI. He earned the Player of the Match award for his knock and with that, he became the player with most POTM awards against a single opposition.
