Former Indian cricketer Atul Wassan reckoned that Pakistan should win the high-octane IND vs PAK clash at ICC Champions Trophy. The arch-rivals will lock horns on Sunday in Dubai. Wassan backed Pakistan to win the contest, claiming that it will be fun tournament wise.
Wassan wants Pakistan to beat India
Speaking to news agency ANI, Wassan opined that Pakistan beating India would make the Champions Trophy a contest. He claimed that there should be an equal fight.
“I want Pakistan to win because it will be fun, tournament-wise. If you don’t let Pakistan win, then what will you do. If Pakistan wins, then it becomes a contest. There should be an equal fight,” Wassan said.

Pakistan were handed a 60-run defeat in their tournament opener against New Zealand. The side saw specialist opener Fakhar Zaman sustain an injury early on in the 1st innings. While he did come out to bat in the run-chase, he was subsequently ruled out of the remainder of Champions Trophy. Despite half-centuries from Babar Azam and Khushdil Shah, the hosts were unable to finish the run-chase.
India, on the other hand, started their campaign with a 6-wicket win against Bangladesh. Shami and Harshit Rana picked up 8 wickets to reduce Bangladesh to 228 runs. In reply, Shubman Gill slammed his first century in an ICC event and stayed unbeaten at 101 to get India across the finish line. with Pakistah having lost their first match, the game against India will now be a do-or-die one for the co-hosts in order to stay alive in the tounament.
