Just 2 days remain before the India Cricket Team takes on Bangladesh for their opening game of the ICC Champions Trophy. However, a lingering doubt continues about KL Rahul. At what position will the ace batter bat – Number 5 or 6? However, on Monday, KL Rahul donned the role of a finsher as he tonked big shots over the fences.
In the IND vs ENG ODI series, KL Rahul was pushed down to number 6 while Axar Patel was moved up the order to bat at number 5. KL Rahul as a result, got very time with the bat and failed to get some good runs under his belt.
KL Rahul in new avatar during India’s practice
But, on Monday it was a different scene. Rather than playing role of an anchor where his main job is to control the tempo of the game, KL Rahul donned a new avatar. He took on the aggressive route as he slammed huge hits at the Dubai Satdium.
It is imperative that KL Rahul will have to play some big shots in the tournaments as he is expected to remain for the side in the final overrs of the game. And in such a scenario, a player can’t go on to exchange strikes. Thus, ahead of the mega ICC tournament, KL went on the aggressive route.

Reports claim he was switched gears from the very first ball of practice. He slammed huge hits clearing the boundaries with relative ease in almost all deliveries. Coming to the team dynamics, it is understood, KL will get the nod over Rishabh Pant as the number 1 keeper in the squad.
It will be Rahul behind the stumps and in terms of his batting, KL is a classy batter. In terms of finishing, he will be joined by Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja in the lower order.
