No Indian flag at Lahore Stadium as PCB removes tri-color flag ahead of ICC Champions Trophy

India will face Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy on 23rd February at Dubai

The conflict between BCCI and the PCB has now seen a new role. Pakistan who are the hosts of the ICC Champions Trophy left out India’s flag at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. A total of 8 teams are taking part in the tournament, but only 7 flags were hoisted in Lahore, except the tri-colored Indian flag.

After a long gap of 8 years, the ICC Champions Trophy is back. Pakistan went on to beat India back in 2017 to lift the trophy. And now, Pakistan is the host of the tournament. But ahead of the start of the tournament, the Indian flag is missing from being hoisted at the Lahore stadium.

Indian flag missing at Lahore Stadium

A video went viral on social media where fans observed that 7 flags of different countries were spotted. The only flag missing was that of India. They immediately joined the dots to claim that Pakistan hasn’t kept the flags as India refused to travel to Pakistan.

Both the PCB and the BCCI were locked in an epic standoff. The BCCI made it clear since the Indian government has refused to grant them permissions, that’s why the India Cricket Team won’t travel to Pakistan to play the tournament. Eventually, the two parties agreed that India would play their matches at a neutral venue, i.e. Dubai.
