Rajat Patidar has begun his captaincy stint in IPL with a dominating win over Kolkata Knight Riders. As a batter, he was successful too as he smashed 16-all 34 as Royal Challengers Bengaluru chased downa 175-run target in 16.2 overs. Although Patidar made his IPL captaincy debut, he is not new to leadership.
He recently captained Madhya Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and then in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, marking his domestic captaincy debut. He performed exceptionally well, leading his team to the finals in the SMAT and securing a third-place finish in the VHT, showcasing his captaincy brain.
There is no doubt that many expectations will rest on the 31-year-old’s shoulders. It will be highly interesting to see how things comes for him as the leader of RCB in IPL 2025.
