Australia cricket team have been dealt with a blow as Matthew Kuhnemann has been reported for suspect action in AUS vs SL 2nd Test in Galle. The spinner was the standout bowler for the Aussies in the Test series, picking up 16 wickets in two matches. He will now have to undergo an assessment to rule his action as legal.
Kuhnemann reported for suspect action
As per Cricket Australia, Kuhnemann is cleared to bowl in domestic cricket but cannot bowl in international games until his assessment. The test, which will use a state of the art technology and video, will determine if the spinner’s action is legal. Should it be found illegal, then he will be suspended from bowling until he modifies his action and proves it as legal via a test.
“The Australian team was notified of the match officials’ referral following the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle and will support Matt through the process of clearing this matter,” CA said in a statement released today.
