"Does it make any sense?": Dodda Ganesh blasts Team India for KL Rahul-Axar Patel experiment

For the past 2 ODI matches, KL Rahul has been pushed down to number 6, while Axar Patel was promoted up the order

The India Cricket Team has sealed the IND vs ENG ODI series with a brilliant win at Cuttack. While the team has performed well, there are still quite a few areas that need to be discussed. KL Rahul has once again been dropped to the 6th position while Axar Patel was promoted up the order at number 5. Now, former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh has slammed the board for making this horrible decision.

KL Rahul‘s natural position has been at number 5. But now for the past 2 ODI matches, he has been dropped to number 6, where he has failed to perform. On the other hand, Axar Patel has faired well upon being promoted up the order. But Dodda Ganesh has criticized the team for deliberately pushing down a genuine batter down the order.

Dodda Ganesh not keen on KL Rahul-Axar Patel experiment

“Axar Patel again ahead of KL Rahul? I’m speechless. Does it make any sense to push a genuine batter like Rahul to no 6? When you’re 5/3, do you’ve the courage to send Axar on a tricky pitch? If not, what sense does this experiment make?Absolutely mindless this,” Ganesh wrote on X.

As things stand, KL Rahul continues to be the number 1 preferred choice for the role of a keeper in the team. Be it the IND vs ENG ODI series or the ICC Champions Trophy, KL Rahul is the number 1 keeper over Rishabh Pant.

Dodda Ganesh argued that this experiment would be extremely dangerous on a tricky pitch. He questioned will the team have the courage to send Axar Patel ahead of KL Rahul on a tricky pitch.
