"India has an advantage": Harbhajan Singh claims Men in Blue to have better advantage over Pakistan

India will take on Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy on 23rd February

The focus shifts towards the ICC Champions Trophy as just a week remains for the start of this tournament. Naturally, the hype surrounding the India vs Pakistan clash has started picking up. In the meantime, former India spin legend Harbhajan Singh claims that India holds an advantage over their arch-rivals.

Harbhajan believes India will have the advantage since they will be more accustomed to the pitch and conditions in Dubai. The Men in Blue has refused to travel to Pakistan who are the hosts of the tournament. As a result, India will play all their match at a neutral venue, i.e. Dubai in this case.

India has advantage over Pakistan

“The hype is being created regarding the India-Pakistan match…the team that is going to adjust better with the pitch will get a better result…India has an advantage, it will play all its matches in Dubai so it will have an idea about the pitch and conditions. Overall I feel the Indian team is better than the Pakistan team and the result will be in favour of India,” Harbhajan Singh told ANI.

Harbhajan Singh explained that India has the advantage since they are playing all their games in Dubai. Pakistan on the other hand, will play 2 of their matches on home soil. Furthermore, the Indian legend also claimed that in general the Indian team is also better than Pakistan.

Difficult to replace Bumrah

Harbhajan also claimed that it is extremely difficult for Team India to replace Jasprit Bumrah if he is unfit. This in turn also gives chance for players like Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh to step up and perform.

“When a player like Bumrah is not playing, someone else has to step up and take responsibility. No one can truly replace Bumrah, but his absence creates an opportunity for others to showcase their abilities. Players like Arshdeep and Shami have a chance to make an impact and prove themselves,” he added.

“Virat and Rohit haven’t scored as many runs as expected, given their past performances. The expectations are high, and when they fall short, criticism is natural. However, with the Champions Trophy ahead, they have a great opportunity to showcase their abilities and prove how they can still win matches for India. If they don’t succeed, naturally, the young players waiting in the wings will start getting more opportunities. But I still believe both have plenty of cricket left in them–they are highly capable players who can still score runs,” he concluded.
