Skipper Rohit Sharma revealed that the team will be making a couple of changes to their line-up for the contest. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kuldeep Yadav will sit out of the contest while Kohli and Varun Chakravarthy will feature in the playing XI. Rishabh Pant continues to be benched.

Jaiswal paves way for Kohli
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was handed his ODI debut in the previous game, will pave way for Virat in the playing XI for the 2nd ODI. Kohli missed the first game due to a swelling on his right knee which he developed a day before the Nagpur contest. Now, Gill will return to his position as opener for the 2nd ODI while Kohli will be carrying out his usual responsibility as number three batter.
Shreyas Iyer retains spot
Ahead of IND vs ENG 2nd ODI, reports had claimed that Iyer could be dropped from the XI owing to Gambhir’s left-right strategy. However, the team seems to have thought sensibly by not doing so. Iyer has been in phenomenal form recently and is India’s best number 4 batter.

Kuldeep out, Varun in
The only change made to the bowling line-up was replacing Kuldeep Yadav with Varun Chakravarthy. the latter was handed his debut ODI cap by Jadeja ahead of the game.
