On Saturday, a day before the IND vs ENG at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, three Indian cricket players visited the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri to seek blessings. Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Axar Patel made the early morning visit to the temple amid tight security. The players, accompanied by security personnel, had a smooth darshan of the deities – Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath. Washington Sundar remarked, “The darshan was very good.”
Preparations for practice session
The Indian cricket team is scheduled to visit Barabati Stadium in Cuttack for a net practice session in the afternoon. To ensure the players’ safe movement between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the police have set up extensive security arrangements.

Security and public advisory
Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh stated that the players will head to Barabati Stadium for their practice on Saturday, with a traffic advisory issued for public convenience. “Around 50 platoons of forces have been deployed,” the police commissioner mentioned, ensuring a secure environment for the team during their travels.
India to seal the series before Champions Trophy
India will be playing their second ODI against England, and they will be looking to seal the series. In the first ODI in Nagpur, India emerged victorious by 4 wickets. Half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and Shubman Gill helped India sail to victory. This series is important for India as they will be looking to perform well in the upcoming Champions Trophy. Hosted by Pakistan, India will be playing all their matches in Dubai.
