As per The Indian Express, BCCI game development manager Abay Kuruvila informed the Haryana Cricket Association and Mumbai Cricket Association about the change of venue. The report states that while there is official reason provided, it is understood that fog and cold could have been the primary issue as to why the contest was moved out of Lahli.
“We were informed by mail that the Ranji Trophy game between Haryana and Mumbai, to be played in Lahli, has been shifted to Eden Gardens in Kolkata due to unavoidable circumstances. Cricket Association of Bengal will be hosting and taking care of all arrangements,” an MCA official said.
