The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced their squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25 quarterfinal against Haryana. The MCA has named an 18-member strong side for the knockout game that will be played at Chaudhry Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Lahli from February 8 to 12.
Suryakumar Yadav replaces Shivam Dube
Mumbai has made three changes from their match against Meghalaya. They have replaced Harsh Tanna with Shreyas Gurav and added two experienced batters in Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav to the squad. Having lost Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan, and Shreyas Iyer, the 42-time champions need to bolster their middle order for the quarterfinal.
Musheer and Sarfaraz are both injured, while Iyer has made his way to Nagpur to attend a training camp for the India vs. England ODI series, which starts on February 6.

Prithvi Shaw’s exile continues
With Ayush Mhatre and Amogh Bhatkal present, MCA has decided they won’t turn towards Prithvi Shaw. The opener was dropped from Mumbai’s team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy after irking the selectors with his fitness and disciplinary issues. Shaw has been working hard to make amends, but the MCA isn’t convinced just yet.
Had it been any other team, he might have been selected and even played. But since Mumbai has an incredible talent pool, MCA isn’t going back to Shaw just yet. From the looks of it, his next cricketing assignment would be the County Championship, and he could rejoin the Northamptonshire County Cricket Club for the upcoming season, which starts on April 4.
