Just 2 months remain for the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Mumbai Indians have a star-studded squad, but the 5-time champions need to be wary of one thing- And that is keeping their star players injury-free. Another key aspect would be to keep a very close eye on the off-form of these players.
The three stars in question for Mumbai Indians are Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Deepak Chahar. It is safe to say that MI’s pace unit is under a lot of pressure. Bumrah is now currently injured and facing a race against time to be fit for the ICC Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar had a quiet season after being injured in patches.
Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is a key and pivotal player in the Mumbai Indians. In the Sydney Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, he suffered a back spasm and now there are doubts about his availability for the ICC Champions Trophy. Bumrah has a history of back issues as he suffered a stress fracture almost 2.5 years back.
With IPL around the corner, Mumbai Indians will be worried about their ace pacer’s availability for the mega tournament. Back in IPL 2023, Bumrah missed the entire edition of the tournament with his troubled back.
Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya is the current captain of the Mumbai Indians. The ace all-rounder too has his fair share of injury concerns. Throughout his career, his injuries have played a key figure where he went on to miss matches and tournaments both for Mumbai Indians and the Indian Cricket Team.
His performance in IPl 2024 had been a rather overwhelming campaign. He was rather poor with the bat and his captaincy decisions were questioned. With IPL 2025 knocking on the door, MI will have to be wary of both Hardik’s form and his injury concerns.

Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar is another player who will cause some worry for the 5-time IPL champions. Injuries have troubled and plagued the pacer throughout his career. Though he has performed in patches, his injuries have prevented him from reaching his full potential.
With the bat, Deepak Chahar is handy in playing big shots. Mumbai Indians thus will have to be careful about his hamstring injuries and optimize his workload before and during the tournament.
