They managed to score 380 runs, with Maulyarajsinh Chavda being the star performer, scoring 161 runs. However, Tamil Nadu’s disciplined bowling attack restricted Gujarat and kept them from posting a bigger score.

In their second innings, Gujarat declared at 172 for 7, setting Tamil Nadu a target of 120 runs in the final session. Since Tamil Nadu already had the advantage from the first innings, they played the remaining 21 overs calmly and finished at 55 for 1. The match concluded as a draw, but Tamil Nadu claimed the trophy due to their earlier lead.
