The shuffle in BCCI is set to continue. After Jay Shah’s departure, there is now a vacant space for the secretary post. Furthermore, The BCCI Tresurer’s spot is also vacant with Ashish Shelar becoming the Minister for Information Technology of Maharashtra. As per reports, Devajit Saikia has filed his nomination to become the secretary while Prabhtej Singh Bhatia has applied for the Treasurer’s post.
The duo is expected to take up their spots in the upcoming elections. The reason is, the duo are uncontested in this election. As per the norms, after the departure of Jay Shah, the BCCI has a period of 45 days within which they need to conduct their elections for the vacant spots.

BCCI Elections Soon
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Elections is slated to take place on 12th January. Devajit Saikia who represents Assam Cricket Association is currently the Joint Secretary. And now with Jay Shah taking up the ICC role, Saikia is expected to become the Secretary of the apex cricketing body of the country.
On the other hand, with Saikia slated to assume the post, a joint secretary will also be elected. As far as the Treasurer’s spot, Prabhtej Singh Bhatia who is from Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sang has filed for the post. And he too is expected to become the new Treasurer as his post is also uncontested.
The role opened up after Ashish Shelar moved and joined the cabinet ministry of Maharashtra. He is now the current Minister for Information Technology of Maharashtra.
