Bumrah got the first wicket of the day by getting rid of Marnus Labuschagne. He then bowled only one over in the second session before walking off the field. He was replaced by Sarfaraz Khan and did not return to the middle throughout the reminder of the innings. Bumrah has been the most over-worked Indian pacer in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Despite the workload, he has been the leading wicket-taker for India so far. It remains to be seen if the Indian captain will take field in the 2nd innings.
