Mohammed Siraj and Rohit Sharma wasted a review early on in the innings in the IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. In a desperate attempt to find an early breakthrough, India opted for a failed review after a delivery off Siraj went to to rap Usman Khawaja on his pads. However, the batter had come down the pitch and the ball tracker eventually showed that the ball went on to miss the stumps.
Siraj and India burn a review
The incident occurred in the fourth over of the 1st innings as Siraj bowled to Khawaja. The delivery swung back in against the batter, trapping him on his pads. After taking quite some time, Rohit Sharma decided to go upstairs pretty much in the last second. However, ball tracking showed that the ball went on to miss the stumps by a whisker. Hence, umpire Michael Gough was asked to stick to his original decision and India’s review went for a toss.
