March 24, 2018, marked a black day in cricket history when former captain Steve Smith, Cameron Bancroft, and David Warner were implicated in the notorious ‘Sandpaper Gate’ scandal.
The trio was caught attempting to alter the ball during the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town, with the incident occurring on the third day of the match.
Smith and Warner were handed a ban of one year while Bancroft was banned for nine months.
