After winning his first major trophy in Asia Cup 2025, Suryakumar Yadav maintained his streak in Australia, winning the series 2-1. And now, the 3-1 series win has only bettered his record as a skipper in the format. If one tracks the series’ earlier in the year, India clinched T20I series against England with a 4-1 result in a five-match series.

In the last match between India and South Africa, Surya’s team posted a thumping 30 run win in Ahmedabad.

Suryakumar Yadav T20I captaincy record

Suryakumar Yadav, primarily known for his 360-degree batting style, has only captained India in T20Is. Initially, he was not the permanent captain. He stepped in to fill the gap when the regular captain, Hardik Pandya, was unavailable. After the 2023 World Cup, he led India in a T20I series against Australia, securing a 4-1 victory as a form of revenge for the World Cup loss.

So far, India have won 28 matches out of 39 under him, with two ending up in a tie and wins in Super Over. Under Suryakumar, India have lost just five matches.
