The England Test series is going through a rough phase, as after suffering a 4-0 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Australia in the Ashes, they recently succumbed to a 1-0 series loss against West Indies. Interestingly. the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) decided to axe both veteran pacers Stuart Broad and James Anderson for this series, but it turned out to be a costly error in judgement.

Broad, meanwhile, still harbours the dream of making a grand return to his English Test side along with his best mate James Anderson. Writing about it on Daily Mail, he mentioned “I have been able to move on from that disappointment, and there was no point dwelling on it, I just need to crack on with my own work. Anderson and myself are in the same boat and both of us have a steely inner belief that we can be successful for England again.”

The Three Lions will now be in a two-month-long break, owing to the ongoing Indian Premier League season. They will return again in June for a two-match home Test series against New Zealand, and broad is eyeing a return in that series.
“In terms of selection for that first Test against New Zealand, I don’t think there will be any clarity until a new managing director is appointed. I haven’t had a great deal of contact with the ECB since I was left out of the tour of West Indies but I don’t really need any, to be honest,” he added.
