Defending champions Kolkata Thunderbolts are at their dominating best this season. The team led by Ashwal Rai started the season with a 3-2 victory against Bengaluru Torpedoes. They then went on to dominate against Hyderabad Blackhawks and sealed a 4-1 victory. The Thunderbolts are at the top of the table and now aim hat-trick of wins.
Kochi Blue Spikers meanwhile played just a solitary game so far this season. They clinched lost against Chennai Blitz 2-3. After the loss, the team has made changes to their squad.
They have sacked their skipper Eduardo Romay and has named Vipul Kumar as the captain. They have also signed two new players with Haryana’s universal Shubham Chaudhary nd Delhi’s libero Allen Ashique. The team hopes for a fresh start but face a big test against in-form Kolkata Thunderbolts.
