James ‘Buster’ Douglas

Where else to start but with the man who inflicted ‘Iron Mike’ Tyson’s first defeat. James ‘Buster’ Douglas wrote his name into history books when he did the unthinkable by knocking out Tyson in 1990. Despite being a huge underdog and Tyson trying to intimidate him, Douglas boasted a calm demeanor throughout. And even after suffering a knockdown, Douglas fought back to knock out ‘Iron Mike’.

Evander Holyfield

Holyfield and Tyson share one of boxing’s biggest and most controversial rivalries. And the two fought twice in 1996 and 1997, with Holyfield winning both. However, it was the nature in which Holyfield beat Tyson that caught attention. While the second fight ended because Tyson infamously bit Holyfield’s ear, the first fight saw Holyfield out-muscle ‘Iron Mike.’ After heated verbal battles leading into the fight, Holyfield and Tyson settled it in the ring with Holyfield getting an 11th-round knockout.

Lennox Lewis

Finally, to close out our list of boxers that did not fear ‘Iron Mike.’ we had to include Lennox Lewis. The two had the most high-octane build-up to a fight that we can even think of. The press conference, the face-offs, everything needed a lot of security to ensure that the two fighters do not get into a fight. However, despite Tyson’s best efforts, Lennox Lewis looked unfazed. The Englishman looked focused on the fight, and ultimately had the last laugh as he beat Tyson.
