Archery World Cup: Jyothi Surekha Vennam completes hattrick of gold medals as India sweep compound team events

India demonstrated their dominance in non-Olympic compound events during the morning session, winning the men's, women's, and mixed team events—two of which featured Jyothi—to complete a perfect sweep of the team events.

Asian Games champion Jyothi Surekha Vennam led India’s dominance at the ongoing Archery World Cup Stage 1 in Shanghai on Saturday, winning a stunning hat-trick of gold medals thanks to her extraordinary mental toughness. During the season-opening global showpiece, world No. 3 Jyothi battled past tournament top seed Andrea Becerra of Mexico in a close shoot-off finish 146=146 (9*-9) to accomplish a unique achievement.

It also equaled her performance from the previous year’s Asian Games in Hangzhou, where the 27-year-old archer from Vijayawada won three gold medals in mixed, women’s, and individual competitions.
