Cameron Norrie vs Holger Rune
British number one Cameron Norrie chipped away at Holger Rune’s defences to win 7-5 6-4 6-1 on Saturday and reach the fourth round at the U.S. Open for the first time. The 27-year-old Wimbledon semi-finalist had already beaten Rune twice this year and showed he had not lost the winning formula in sizzling conditions, making 22 unforced errors to his 19-year-old Danish opponent’s 43. With the win, Norrie next faces Russian Andrey Rublev.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Jenson Brooksby
World number four Carlos Alcaraz used his mighty forehand to swat aside American Jenson Brooksby 6-3 6-3 6-3 in a superb third-round performance at the U.S. Open on Saturday.
The Spanish teen rocketed to stardom as the youngest man to reach the quarter-final at Flushing Meadows last year and looks on track for another memorable run after making 46 winners to just 10 from his opponent inside Arthur Ashe Stadium. After Alcaraz comfortably claimed the opening two sets, he nullified a Brooksby surge in the early stages of the third to preserve his perfect record this fortnight. The Spaniard reeled off six games in a row to recover a double-break deficit from 0-3 and complete a two-hour, 11-minute victory.
Andrey Rublev vs Denis Shapovalov
With the pressure on, Andrey Rublev stepped up and delivered Saturday, clawing past Denis Shapovalov 6-4, 2-6, 6-7(3), 6-4, 7-6(10-7) in a US Open thriller. In a mammoth clash on Grandstand, the ninth seed battled through an epic 10-minute game on serve to clinch the fourth set. He then recovered from squandering three match points on serve at 5-4 in the decider, eventually advancing after four hours and 10 minutes to reach the fourth round in New York for the fourth time.
Rafael Nadal vs Richard Gasquet
Rafael Nadal, who is one of the serious contenders to lift the US Open title, dominated Richard Gasquet completely to seal a straight set victory in the third round of the US Open on Saturday. After scoring a bagel over his opponent in the first set, Nadal dropped just a game to take the second set 6-1. In the third set, Gasquet has given a good fight but Nadal won it 7-5 to advance to fourth round. With the 6-0, 6-1, 7-5 victory, Nadal has earned his 18th consecutive win over Richard Gasquet in the history of the ATP Tour.

Jessica Pegula vs Yue Yuan
The lowest-ranked of the record four Chinese women in the US Open third round, 23-year-old qualifier Yuan, who is ranked World No.142 had never faced a Top 20 opponent before. However against Pegula, the Chinsese displayed her abilities as she put on a great fight and took the match to three sets before eventually losing the contest.
The first set went as expected as Pegula won it 6-2. But Yuan began to display greater patience to hit her spots in a high-quality second set. She powered out to a 4-1 lead, and even when Pegula inched her way back into the set held firm at its climax. Yuan overturned a 5-2 deficit in the tiebreak, saving a match point with a terrific backhand winner to force the game into third set. Pegula was able to reset for an efficient third set, though. The World No.8’s serve had been the lynchpin of her success, and she only dropped one point behind it in the decider.
Iga Swiatek vs Lauren Davis
Iga Swiatek defeated America’s Lauren Davis 6-3, 6-4 to reach the last 16 of the US Open on Saturday. Swiatek will next face either Jule Niemeier or Quinwen Zheng in the fourth round. Swiatek won the first set comfortably in the contest and was looking strong to seal a straight set win against the World No. 105, however Davis made a good comeback as she led 1-4 and was threatening to take the contest into the decider. Swiatek then showcased her class as she won five consecutive games to seal a straight set win.
