As per reports, a source that knows the player said that Mason Greenwood criticised everyone who he considered was not up to his level. The source says that the player knew he was good and he was arrogant about it even at the age of 16 years old. If he thought that someone wasn’t up to his level, he did not hesitate to use abusive language to tell them off.
The source even saw the player criticising one of the club’s greatest strikers, Cristiano Ronaldo before Ronaldo even returned to his childhood club. Apparently, Greenwood said, “He’s dead” which was a dig at the world-famous striker saying that his career is over and his footballing days are nearing the finishing line.
The source added that when he heard these things, he thought to himself that these were highly inappropriate and Greenwood should not be talking like that. The staff even corrected the young player and marked these words as ‘youthful delusions’. Greenwood rose to fame at a young age and he apparently made these remarks during that time.
However, his famous name became infamous in a day when he was accused of assault and coercive and controlling behavior towards his ex-girlfriend. However, seems that he won’t have to because the Crown Prosecution Service said that many witnesses to the incident refused to cooperate. Hence, they dropped all charges against the player. After this news, Greenwood was seen in London with the same girlfriend who accused him and is now pregnant. Later, it came to light that the player was even preparing to marry her.
Following the charges against him being dropped, he met with the club officials and Manchester United boss, Erik Ten Hag. The club even released a statement saying that they would carry out their own investigation into the matter. However, the club has recently rejected offers from other clubs for the player. This could mean that they are willing to keep the player. However, not the entire squad, officials, and the dressing room are in agreement on bringing the player back to the club.
