Is KSI’s opponent Joe Fournier a better KO artist than Deontay Wilder and Gervonta Davis?
Fournier is an undefeated boxer with a 9-0 record. What’s more impressive about his undefeated record is that all nine victories have come by knockout. Thus giving Fournier a 100% knockout rate. This is better than some of boxing’s most devastating knockout artists like Deontay Wilder and Gervonta Davis.
Wilder has 42 knockouts out of 43 wins, which gives him a 91% knockout rate while Gervonta Davis has 27 knockouts out of 29 wins. Therefore, on paper, it appears that Joe Fournier is a better knockout artist than Deontay Wilder and Gervonta Davis.
However, it is ridiculous to even think of this in the practical sense, given the kind of opponents Wilder and Davis have faced. Only one of Fournier’s opponents has had more wins than losses. In addition, two of his wins have been against debutants.
Moreover, despite having nine knockouts on his record, Fournier does not have a single clean knockout. All nine are TKO wins. Davis and Wilder, on the other hand, have knocked some of the best fighters in the division out cold.
So while Joe Fournier has a better knockout rate than Deontay Wilder and Gervonta Davis, he is definitely not a better knockout artist than the two.
