Virat Kohli Run Drought: Virat Kohli has been undergoing one of the worst seen patches by a top batter in world cricket. With runs deserting the great Indian batter, support has poured from some former players and present cricketers too. Pakistan’s Baba Azam is the latest cricketer to stand by Kohli, and wants Indian cricket fans to show their support to Kohli in one of his most difficult phase.

One had never seen Kohli been involved in such poor form since he started playing international cricket. So much so that it has become a national debate on TV and at every tea stall in the country.

At present, opinions are also divided regarding Kohli with some wanting him to be dropped from the Indian side while some backing the Indian great to come good. Babar Azam falls in the latter category.

In fact, the Pakistan batter showed full support on Twitter after Virat Kohli’s batting woes continued in the India vs England second ODI as well. Azam tweeted ‘This too shall pass. Stay Strong # Virat Kohli.’

That tweet of Azam went viral and it won over Indian cricket fans, who are keen to see their favourite player Kohli get back amongst the runs. Azam has even gone on to explain that tweet showering support towards Kohli. He believes he did that to show his support towards Kohli.

“As a player I can go through times like these. At such times, you need support. I sent that tweet just to show the support. He is one of the best players there is, and he knows how to get out of this. It might take a bit of time, and the more we back him, the better,” said Babar Azam.

In fact, such has been his form that the player is in the cusp of an unwanted record in cricket history. He is just one game away from 1000 days without a ton. He would not want that rare and infamous record to be associated with him. He has one last chance, on Sunday at Old Trafford in the India vs England third ODI.

With the player having taken rest from the India tour of West Indies, he does not have much time to get back to form before the World Cup. However, a ton against England in the third ODI would do a world of wonders to his confidence and also play an important role in silencing his critics too.
