Sean O’Malley shared his thoughts on the injury of Aljamain Sterling ahead of UFC 292

To set the context, Sterling after getting a win over Henry Cejudo at UFC 288 recently stated, “I’m still injured, like with my legs banged up. My bicep still sucks. Supposed to get another MRI on that. I’m trying to get to this fight in August. We talked a little bit about it, and I’m trying to see if we can make it happen, but my leg is still super sensitive to the touch. I hope I’m not ruining anything by me saying that. But guys, I did just fight.”

And now in a recent podcast Sterling’s opponent for UFC 292, ‘Suga’ O’Malley stated, “You did just fight, but look at Izzy, mother****er fought four times in 12 months. You have four months. I know you said three months. It was four months from a fight. Take two months off, heal up, and then train hard for two months. It ain’t f***ing science. Or is it?.”

Undoubtedly, “Suga” is eager to take on Sterling and has made it clear that he disagrees with Sterling’s recent statements. By drawing on Israel Adesanya’s experience fighting multiple times per year, “Suga” has subtly implied that Sterling’s concerns about injuries and preparation time may not be justified, as three to four months is enough time to prepare for a fight.

As ardent followers of the sport, we’re filled with excitement at the mere prospect of witnessing these two skilled fighters collide inside the octagon. Both “Suga” and Sterling are widely respected in the UFC, and their impending encounter is sure to be a spectacle that fans won’t want to miss. While it’s uncertain whether the bout will come to fruition, we can’t help but hold out hope for its happen.
