SRH vs CSK, IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad win by 10 runs

Hinge holds his nerve and backs the no-ball with a good yorker and a full ball outside off to dismiss Overton. The game was done and he bowled 2 yorkers to help SRH win by 10 runs.

Hinge, who's gone for 54 in 3 overs, will deliver the last over. And he delivers a chest high no-ball. The pressure is getting to him.

Exceptional change of pace and great tactics. Sakib knew Dube struggles off his leg and he kept bowling to him there. Dube was perhaps expecting a slower ball of short length but a full ball on leg and it hits his pad and crashes into the stumps. SRH on top.

Malinga has returned with a wicket in each of his 3 overs. He traps Matt Short the same way he did Sarfaraz. Due to his action, his balls stay a bit low. Short fails to get under the ball because of the lack of lift on the ball and it goes flat towards Aniket at deep mid-wicket. SRH are back in it.

All the pressure building on CSK has been released by Hinge. He goes for 15 in his 3rd over. 2 boundaries and 1 no-ball. Now, CSK will feel that they have a good chance to win.

The last ball of the 9th over was the last time CSK hit a boundary. The runs have dried up. 16 runs have come off the next 4 overs and they've 2 wickets. SRH might be favourites to win from here.

Dewald Brevis doesn't trouble the scorers. His eyes light up after seeing Shivang pitch the ball up. He played it like a stock ball, but it was googly. He gets the height but not the distance as he slices the ball. Klaasen takes a neat catch at long off.

Sarfaraz Khan was itching to score after 2 dot balls. Malinga bowls a full ball on middle and Sarfaraz goes for a flick but his right hand comes off the handle. It goes straight to Nitish Reddy at deep square leg. SRH are back in the game.

Shivang Kumar and Abhishek Sharma have come on post the powerplay. The former bowled tight, 7 runs, but the latter went for 13. They don't have Harsh Dubey since they used Liam Livingstone as the impact sub. Now they'll have to make do with Abhishek and Livingstone.

CSK are losing their way. Gaikwad walks back now. A sharp bouncer from Eshan Malinga that the CSK captain goes to pull but gloves it to Salil Arora, the wicketkeeper.

What a grab. Klaasen jumps to his left and plucks the ball out of the air. An exceptional catch. Stationed at mid-off, Klaasen sticks out both his hands and the ball sticks into his left mitt. Mhatre returns with 30 off 13. But it looks like he won't be playing for CSK anytime soon.

In a bid to complete 2 quick runs, Mhatre has seemingly injured himself. It seems like a hamstring issue. The physio is out to treat him.

After giving away 15 in the first over, Praful Hinge returns for a second over and is punished by Mhatre. He leaks 24 runs. He was all over the shop. Starts with a bouncer, only to get hit for a six. He bowls outside off and gets pumped again. Returns to bouncers over the shoulder. He ends the over with 3 fours, all of which are on the off side.

Nitish had a 2nd wicket in the over. Ayush Mhatre wanted to pump the bowler over long on, but the full ball on middle straightened after swinging away. Klaasen runs back and gets both hands but fails to grab it. A tough chance goes down.

Nitish Reddy has immediate effect. Samson tried to smash him out of the park but skied a length ball outside off. He wanted to hit it over long-on/midwicket but it went to Heinrich Klaasen at short mid-on.

CSK have decided to stick with Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad as openers. Ayush Mhatre will come one down as the impact sub.

In the meantime, Samson has started off well, hitting a six off the first ball of the chase. Gaikwad too got off the mark with a four.

Abhishek Sharma is the 2nd quickest to score 2,000 runs in the IPL. Safe to assume that he'll get to 3,000 runs at an even quicker rate.

Liam Livingstone departs on the last ball to Anhsul Kamboj for 1 as Sunrisers Hyderabad end up with 194/9. Abhishek Sharma's mayhem in the powerplay promised a 250+ score. But after two wickets in the last two balls of the powerplay, Chennai Super Kings turned things around. Despite a 22-ball 59 from Abhishek and a 39-ball 59 from Heinrich Klaasen, SRH fail to cross the 200-run mark, falling short of the par by at least 20 runs.

Liam Livingstone is still on 0 off 3, while Shivang Kumar is the other batter on crease. SRH are 187/7.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lose another wicket as Salil Arora falls to Gurjapneet Singh. SRH are 7 down and they are running out of options soon.

Dilshan Madushanka's debut will have to wait as SRH have called up Liam Livingstone as an Impact Sub for Travis Head to give them a late surge in scoring after their middle-order failed to provide that boost.

Things are getting difficult for Sunrisers Hyderabad as Anshul Kamboj removes Heinrich Klaasen fr 59 off 39. It was not a fluent knock and as he tried to play Kamboj on a wide yorker, he dragged the delivery to his stumps. SR lose their 6th wicket.

Third half-century for Heinrich Klaasen this season and 10th overall in IPL. He gets to a milestone off 32 balls.

It has been a strange innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad. They are still striking at nearly 11 runs per over but they have lost wickets too. With the big hitters gone, they are approaching the death overs. The onus will be on Heinrich Klaasen once again as Hyderabad aim to post over 220. SRH 154/5 in 15.

Nitish Kumar Reddy had to play a longer innings for SRH to post 220+. But Jamie Overton gets his third wicket instead as he bowls a slower delivery to Reddy, who tries to go for the big shot and gets caught at the boundary line by Matt Short.

Jamie Overton has struck again and CSK are back in this game after the powerplay blow. Overton is now on a hat-trick as Aniket Verma departs for 2, trying to pull the English bowler. He did not expect the extra bounce and miscued the shot to Noor Ahmad for an easy catch. SRH 112/4.

Heinrich Klaasen has been in form and he is showing that today. Even as SRH lose quick wickets, he is going after CSK's bowling attack. Klaasen takes on Noor Ahmed on two shortish deliveries for fours. After end of 10 overs, SRH post 112/3.

An excellent review and it was Sanju Samson all the way as he asked Ruturaj Gaikwad to take the review. Jamies Overton was not convinced initially and the replays show that Abhishek had a faint edge for 22-ball 59. SRH have lost their top 3 in quick succession. SRH 93/3.

Chennai Super Kings have been the worst catching side this IPL 2026. And even though Ruturaj Gaikwad took an excellent catch to dismiss Travis Head, Shivam Dube has dropped an absolute dolly to hand a rampaging Abhishek Sharma a lifeline.

Mukesh Chaudhary has dismissed Ishan Kishan three times in three innings now. Ishan departs for a golden duck as Chennai pull things back after Travishek show. SRH 75/2 in powerplay.

Mukesh Chaudhary has the last laugh as Travis Head departs. An excellent catch by Ruturaj Gaikwad as Trasvi Head tries to take Chaudhary on at the long-on but doesn't get the timing and Gaikwad runs and dives to take the excellent catch.

After Abhishek Sharma's mayhem, Travis Head joins the party with three boundaries against Mukesh Chaudhary.

With a hat-trick of fours and two sixes against Matthew Short, Abhishek Sharma brings up his half-century off just 15 balls. This is Abhishek's second 15-ball 50 this season. Abhishek is back in form and he is hurting CSK already as SRH move to 63/0 in 5 overs.

Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Both teams are warming up with 10 minutes to go for the toss. However, no warm-up for Pat Cummins or MS Dhoni yet. And it does not look like either of them will feature in the match.

After missing the first five games due to an injury, MS Dhoni is in the CSK squad that has travelled to Hyderabad. He did not travel to Guwahati and Bengaluru for the away games. As he is with the squad, there is hope that he will be CSK's Impact player, with Sanju Samson continuing the wicketkeeping duties.

LLLWW: Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, have bounced back with two consecutive wins. But they are not out of the woods yet. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad's form is of concern. Barring Ayush Mhatre and Sarfaraz Khan, no batter has been consistent. The good news is that Sanju Samson has returned to form after three single-digit scores. With Dewald Brevis back in the mix, CSK's batting has received the boost they needed.

However, their bowling continues to be a concern, especially the pace attack. Khaleel was their most economic bolwer but he has been ruled out. The onus is on Anshul Kamboj and Jamie Overton to make things work against a batting superpower like SRH. Mukesh Chaudhary is likely to replace Khaleel in the Playing XI.

LWLLW: Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a topsy-turvy campaign so far. With Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head also going through their own ups and downs, batting responsibility has been largely on Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan. These two batters have scored 43% of SRH's runs this season. But as the race for the playoffs is about to begin, other batters have to come to the party.

However, SRH will be happy with how their new recruits have performed with the ball. Two deubtants, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, blew Rajasthan Royals away in their last game with four wickets each. With Pat Cummins set to return soon, Hyderabad will be happy with their Indian bowlers' performance, and they need one such show against Chennai. They might also look at Liam Livingstone to add depth to the spin attack.

Historically, CSK have dominated this rivalry. The two teams have faced off 22 times in the IPL, with CSK winning 15 matches and SRH securing 7 victories. However, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, SRH have had an edge, winning three out of five games. In the last two encounters in Hyderabad, SRH won both.
