A 132-run knock from Sai Sudharsan on Day 1 allowed the hosts to dominate the proceedings on the opening Day. While Devdutt Padikkal failed as he was sent packing after scoring just 12 runs, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s stay in the middle was also short as he managed to score just 22 runs. It was then captain Dhruv Jurel and Shaik Rasheed who steadied the ship for India, staying unbeaten on 68 and 53 respectively at stumps. The wicketkeeper-batter will be eyeing yet another first-class hundred on Day 2 as India A look to pile up more runs. While the bowlers managed to restrict the flow of runs in the 1st session, they failed to take wickets at regular intervals and allowed the India A batters to settle down.
