IPL 2025: How have RCB players performed in the Champions Trophy so far?

In this article, we will evaluate the performances of RCB's standout players during the group stage matches of the Champions Trophy.

IPL 2025: The group stage of the Champions Trophy has concluded, and the four semi-finalists who have emerged victorious are India, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. These teams have reached the knockout stages of this grand ICC event, signaling that the tournament is nearing its climax.

Many IPL stars are representing their respective teams in the Champions Trophy, and in this piece, we will turn our attention to the players from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). We will evaluate the performances of RCB’s standout players during the group stage matches.

How RCB players fared in Champions Trophy

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli had a respectable showing in the group stage of the Champions Trophy. He began with a score of 22 against Bangladesh but bounced back strongly in the next match, scoring a magnificent unbeaten 100 to lead India to victory against Pakistan. In the final group match, Kohli looked in fine form until a brilliant catch by Glenn Phillips resulted in his dismissal against New Zealand. He concluded the group stage with an average of 44.3 and a total of 133 runs. With at least one more match to play in the tournament, Kohli will aim to score big and make a significant impact.

Philip Salt

Much was anticipated from Philip Salt as he entered the competition, but he unfortunately fell short of expectations, failing to make an impact in all three matches. Over these 3 games, he managed to score only 30 runs, averaging just 10. Unlike his RCB teammate Kohli, Salt played on the flat surfaces in Pakistan, yet he couldn’t deliver when England needed him the most. With the IPL season approaching, RCB fans will likely be anxious about his current form.

Liam Livingstone

Another RCB batter who had a disappointing performance in the group stages of the Champions Trophy is Liam Livingstone. Much like Philip Salt, Livingstone had a tournament to forget, failing to make an impact. He struggled to bat with awareness and managed to score just 33 runs across 3 matches, averaging 11. RCB had high expectations for him, and his performance will likely leave them disappointed. Livingstone’s lack of patience and inability to adapt to the match scenarios significantly impacted England’s performance.
