Prior to their impending 10-round boxing match on Friday, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and former UFC heavyweight leader Francis Ngannou tipped the scales during the weigh-in.

In the realm of combat sports, the non-title exhibition battle is an extremely significant crossover event that is comparable to the significance of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight in 2017. This is Ngannou’s first fight as a professional boxer after he left the UFC and decided to give up the heavyweight title earlier in January.

In the meantime, ‘The Gypsy King’ is returning to the ring for the first time since defeating Derek Chisora via TKO in the tenth round last December.

Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury Weigh-Ins

At the weigh-ins for their crossover fight, which is scheduled for this Saturday, October 28, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Fury officially weighed 277.7 pounds, which is around five pounds heavier than Ngannou’s weight of 272.2 pounds.

The weight of Fury was the same as it was for his October 2021 trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder. Although ‘The Predator’ is now heavier than ever in a professional fight—he is over the 266-pound weight limit for UFC heavyweight bouts without titles.

When Tyson Fury met Francis Ngannou in person during their weigh-in on Friday, he made a comparison between himself and Novak Djokovic.

The tall British man brushed off the hitting power of Ngannou, a former UFC fighter who will make his 37-year-old professional boxing debut this Saturday.

Following their weigh-ins in street clothes, the 35-year-old Fury came in at 277.7 pounds while his Cameroonian opponent came in at 272.1 pounds.

A few moments later, Fury shoved his forehead against Ngannou, who gave himself a little room in return by bumping his chest.

The self-described “Gypsy King,” Fury, is expected to get a $50 million salary for the bout in the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The WBC states that the fight will be recognized as an official contest and last 10 rounds. On the rare chance that Fury loses, his belt won’t be in jeopardy.
