The True Geordie, a famous podcaster from the UK, spoke about the event on his podcast. The Brit then shared a snippet of it on X. He said, “He took on a debut boxer for an easy payday, and you got made an absolute mug out of Tyson Fury. He’s never been in the ring, he’s been in the cage because he’s a caged animal. He’s a real dog. And you found that out in there, didn’t you, Tyson? “
If these comments did not make it clear enough, The True Geordie continued. He then spoke about how Fury did not attend the press conference because he was embarrassed. He referenced all the pre-fight trash talk and criticized Fury. The True Geordie then said that Ngannou’s performance was not a fluke and that he was looking for the counter left from the first round.
The True Geordie then made a very bold and frankly unreasonable claim. He said, “That was the most timid, scared version of Tyson Fury we’ve ever seen in a boxing match. Francis Ngannou’s just destroyed his entire life’s work in one night. The legacy is over now. Fury isn’t as good as we thought.”
It is borderline lunacy to say Fury’s performance that night has ruined his legacy. ‘The Gypsy King’ is undefeated and has beaten the likes of Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko on his way to becoming the lineal champion. Moreover, he has shown on many occasions that he is a technically superior fighter than anyone in the division. One bad performance where it was clear he didn’t take Ngannou seriously does not ruin his legacy.
However, it is no surprise to see The True Geordie criticizing Fury. The two had a verbal altercation after Fury appeared on his podcast and then revealed the truth about him. And we should take everything that comes from The True Geordie with a pinch of salt.
In the past, the podcaster has praised Tyson Fury in the past and then switched up completely. Moreover, there are several instances of him doing and saying things just to get his views up. Not to mention his numerous controversies. Therefore, while the comments were bad enough when you consider who it has come from, it only gets worse.
